Cannot wait to “Carried” away with the Sex and the City Movie tonight!

The show that’s evolved into a pop culture phenomena is headed to the big screen.

The fashion is just as over the top and much coveted as ever before.

Will Big and Carrie end up newlyweds? Or will Carrie merely end up with a closet full of designer clothes and Manolo Blahniks?

Well I absolutely fell in love with the shoes Carrie has on in this is pic.

The shoes are by Christian Dior.

But at more than $500 a pop..that’s something I cannot afford.

But you know me the look for less is never far behind.

With the help of Claire from the “Fashion Bomb” I was able to find some awesome replicas.

There’d never been a clothing line made by a young woman like me:
a multiethnic woman who has one foot in Gucci and one foot in the ghetto.”
-Kimora Lee Simmons

I do love Kimora Lee Simmons despite her need for opalescence.
She never apologizes for being fabulous and over the top.
You can’t knock someone for being themselves.

We all wish we could afford celebrity garb. Let’s face it they have designers at their fingertips and get to dip and dabble into every line and label imaginable.

But there’s nothing wrong with being celebrity chic…for cheap.
Please welcome…Steal Her Style.
In these entries we’ll take expensive looks you love and make them looks you can afford.
Can I get three snaps in a “z” formation? LOL

Purple Reign, Purple Reign

“Never meant 2 cause u any sorrow
I never meant 2 cause u any pain
I only wanted 2 one time see u laughing
I only wanted 2 see u laughing in the purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain
Purple rain Purple rain”

Hola Chicas!

That was my ode to Prince and Purple… one of fall’s most dominant colors.

Some one right here in our news room at WNCT-9 understands what I’m talking about….

Seth Browning gets it right adding a BCBG tie with hints of the royal color to his scheme.

Fall is also the time for other beautiful jewel tones we’ve all come to love…
Let me refresh your memory…….

These pics are courtesy of one of my favorite websites shopbop.com
The designers they feature are truly the “haute”ness.

So what do you think of my blog. Drop me a line. Any celeb worthy of mentioning? Let me know. Boutiques or websites you love? I would love to hear from you!!!!!

Ciao Bellas!

I’m hot cuz I’m fly

You ain’t cuz you not

This is why, this is why

This is why I’m hot.

-Mimz

What’s Hot?

Hey Chicas,

Not a big fan of Mimz but that song is well…HOT, and so is yellow.

Now yellow is a tricky color I see so many people do it wrong. Yellow bag, with yellow shoes, with a yellow headband and in a worse case scenario...yellow hair ahhhhhh!

The key is to wear it with something that has hints of yellow in it and not with other primary colors like red and blue. Any combination like that is well….horrendous.

Let’s take a look at some celebs that are acing the yellow test….

The talented Beyonce keeps her dress as the main menu and her accessories as the sides.

Rachel Bilson uses yellow to accessorize NOT monopolize her look

Instyle.com

Eva Longoria spices it up. She’s wearing green with her yellow, but in a GOOD way. There’s nothing wrong with pushing the envelope…just don’t get inside and mail yourself.

Here are some yellow finds if you’re looking to warm up your wardrobe:

*Kate Shoulder Bag Forever 21 ($25.80)

*A clear tote for those who are still at the beach. Forever 21 ($26.80)

A yellow top like this one is great for layering

And this oh so romantic top…loves it!

These Kenneth Cole Sandals are great for just you know…chillin’.

Till next time

“I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet”
-Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City)

Hey Chicas

Fall is right around the corner and people keep asking me “What colors will be in and what should I wear?”
FUSCHIA read it and remember it! This color will reign supreme as the leaves start to make friends with the ground. You can also put the color purple in your color palette if you feel fuchsia is too bold… (But being bold is never a bad thing!)

Bebe gets it right with this cute lil’number.

It’s great for a night out. But chicas make sure you wear a coordinating tank or tube top underneath it. Sheer is sexy, but complete see through with nothing underneath is NOT sexy at all.

Oooh! This Arden B. dress I love! A lil’ more magenta in color but… It’s sexy, classy and affordable. ($148)

Courtesy Arden B.

And if that’s still a little to steep for my peeps, Forever 21 has a fab magenta find for much cheaper. Add the right accessories and it’s just as hot. ($22.80)

I know, I know its about to get a little cooler but we still have a little summer left before we have to put on our thermals and Ugg boots.

Until next time… Ciao!

“A fashionable woman is always in love with herself”
-Francois Duc de la Rochefouchaud

Hey Peeps!
Thanks for taking a peek inside my world. (muah!)
I am the Noon Producer here at WNCT and I love it! I’ve always had a thing for news and being in the know. Ever since I was a little girl (and I know this sounds cliché but it’s true) I’ve wanted to be in the news business. At first I wanted to report but I fell in love with being behind the scenes.
I graduated from ECU in 2006 and I’m happy to already have my BCBG pumps in the door.
I also always had a penchant no… a DESIRE for fashion. I love high end, low end and everything in between. I truly believe you never have a second time to make a first impression so always put your best foot (whether it be clad in Jimmy Choo or Mossismo) forward.
All in all, this blog seems to be the perfect fit for my “in the know” personality, my love of writing, and my clothes horse mentality.
And no this blog isn’t just for my trendy fashionista’s, guy fashion is hot too!
I hope you come back for fashion tips and trends and if you have any style advice or questions go ahead…drop me a line.
Ciao!
